Now that I’m back from the Haven conference, I feel this burst of creative energy pulsing through me. It’s been really hard to get reoriented back into my “9-to-5″ job, though, when all I want to do is stay at home and paint. Or try out my new Ryobi power tools!
After coming from a conference like Haven, talking to all these women who get to blog and create as their FULL TIME JOBS….oh my….it makes heading back to an office, working for “DA MAN,” that much harder.
And when you get used to eating lunches like this, with amazing views in the Sky Bar at Haven, it’s reeeeeaaallly hard to go back to “real life!”
And when you’re partying with blogger friends, it’s SUPER hard to go back to the boring hum-drum of your daily life.
Today, in fact, I made an error at work and sent out an email that went to external customers that shouldn’t have gone out. It had been sitting in my “Drafts” folder, and stupid me–must have been distracted thinking about DIY instead– sent it out without reading it. It had a little bit of mumbo-jumbo that left people scratching their heads.
And, of course, I got my hand slightly slapped and told that when we (our company) messes up, it “embarrasses us.”
That was irritating, to say the least. But I played it cool, realized the error of my way, and vowed to be more careful next time.
Yet, in my head, I kept thinking, “UGH….I’d rather be painting.” LOL
Anyhow, tonight I decided to put my creative juices to work, and went to town on this crazy, ugly wooden play sink:
Remember a few months ago I made over that wooden play kitchen stove? Well, ironically, I found a wooden kid’s play sink afterwards, for a mere $7.00!
But look how ugly it is! It has some deep-rooted stickers attached that only a HomeRight Heat Pro Deluxe heat gun could remove! Love having this thing on hand when I needed it.
Yep, good ‘old Redskins…..Oh! And APPLE!! Man….this thing is OLD!!
Boy…what an ugly sticker!
Scraping helps to remove all that yucky tape!!
So this is the sneak-peak of one color I’m gong to use….OOooohhh, it’s a gorgeous color, but I’m only hoping I can pull it off!
Let the creativity fllllooowwww…….
Okay, so it’s 1:28 a.m. and I am literally FALLING SLEEP at my computer, hallucinating. Go to sleep, Serena!
