It’s so odd that I can’t even buy a burrito from Chipotle for $5.00…..yet I can walk into a thrift store and buy a cool kid’s desk like this! And we all know that when life throws me a $5.00 kid’s desk from the thrift store…….I throw some chalk paint on it…..
…..and some classic chalkboard paint…..
…..and some “ABC” stickers for my toddler…..
….oh, and some “1 2 3″ stickers, too……
…with a snazzy little side drawer to hold chalk….and….
A little work station for him to learn, draw, and practice!
When I found this chair at the thrift store some time ago, there was no question that I was going to paint it. But, then I got the idea that chalkboard paint would be perfect on top, along with letters and numbers for my toddler to sit and “practice.”
Seriously, I think you can add chalkboard paint to anything and make it wonderful! It’s not too terribly expensive, either:
These are perfect for transforming a desk into a learning station for your toddlers. And there are so many endless possibilities for alphabet stickers, it might be hard to choose, LOL:
You can see him hard at work here….. LOL
I’d be smiling big, too, if I had had stuff THIS cool when I was a toddler!!!
And it wasn’t long before he was reeeeaaally feeling artistic!
The best thing is that the numbers and letters area is waxed, and I will go over that area with Mod Podge to help “set” the numbers and hopefully make them resistant to chalk and peeling.
And, of my, what a fun project this was!
