So why do we decorate it with stiff sofas, and pianos that no one ever plays?
I want our formal living room to be a READING ROOM, and this is totally my inspiration:
Don’t these BHG pictures make your mouth water???
Let’s ditch the nasty beige FORMAL living rooms, and transform them into beautiful spaces to lounge, play with kids, or chit-chat with girlfriends!
I was up till 2:00 a.m. finishing painting it Sherwin Williams Window Pane, and I have some COOL thrift store stuff that’s going in the room, and my dumpster desk will have a new home there. I’m also planning to make a pallet sofa similar to this:
I have plans to put a small, cozy “kids corner” in the reading room for my sons. I found this awesome KidKraft Sling Bookshelf at my thrift store for $7.00!!! It’s in perfect condition! On Amazon, it’s freakin’ $64! SCORE!!
Um…..yeah……this is how the “formal” living room was looking recently after piling all the CRAP into the middle, in prep for painting. Can you believe this is the FIRST ROOM that people see when they come into our home? Not that we have many visitors, but *I* shouldn’t have to see this when I come home, either. LOL
This is how we get stuff done–with babies on our backs! LOL
|Let’s hope that a little bit of paint fumes don’t bother baby!!|
|Yeah, that’s my clutter in the background. What?? Don’t act like you don’t have messy homes, either! LOL|
And as I went to work today with chipped red paint on my nails, and splatters of white Behr paint, I can’t wait to get home from my 9-to-5 and work on this pretty space!
Have a great day!
