Thrift Store Treasure Chest

I found a treasure chest yesterday at the thrift store! Well, looked like one to me 
When I opened it up, it was pristine inside. Seriously, who gets RID of stuff this good?! Don’t they see how gorgeous it is??

Funny how I find this stuff, and no one bothers to buy it, but wait till I get it to the counter to pay for it, and people “ooh” and “ahh” over it. Pretty hilarious, actually!

It was marked $34.99….. And Mondays are 25% off Customer Appreciation Day, so you do the math.
And if you’ve browsed this blog, you would know that my hubby has a love-hate relationship with my thrift diving. LOL. I figure if I buy some cool stuff for him, like this chest to stash his own goodies, then maybe he would pardon some of the other stuff I lug home. Don’t you love my reasoning and tactics? I think it’s working….
I went to the thrift store this weekend and saw THE most amazing desk, for $45. I literally had to talk myself out of it. All I could see is hubby’s disapproving scowl as I shove it in the garage with my other numerous upcoming projects.
However, when I told him about it later that day, he said, “Why didn’t you get it? I need a better, more sturdy desk for the office.” Well, gee, thanks, baby!! For making me regret not getting it.
I never would have thought it would still be there, but yep, there she was, tucked and hidden, waiting for me yesterday when I went back
Hubby even said HE wants to refinish it himself! Wow! Maybe I am finally getting some buy in.

Deny, hey girl! Yeah—- that desk was TOO nice to pass up a SECOND time! It’s so solid. For some reason, I keep seeing “RED.” Wouldn’t that look devine?? Not sure if it will blend it with my decor. We shall see!!

Great find! that chest is really cool, and not a bad price. BUT it makes me sooo mad how/where they price things! Pretty chest, then they have to mark all over the inside of it.

Gail, that stacked desk makeover you did was BRILLIANT! I love what you do! And you know…I didn’t even think about the fact that they were marring up that beautiful wood! UGH….Hope I can sand it out!
