31 Day “De-Clutter” Challenge: Day #10

Okay, well, today is the 10th day of the month, but really is Day #1 for me, since I just started this challenge today (go, me!)

Anyhow…… Remember what my master bathroom closet was looking like yesterday? UGH…… Horrific. Simply horrific.

This morning I went bad-ass on it and pulled EVERYTHING out, to force myself to enter the “no turning back!” road, because I knew there was no way in hell I could leaving THIS mess all over my bathroom floor (what a way to kick your butt into action, huh??):

And can I just say that I can’t believe the crap that I was cramming storing in this closet!! Who keeps a hammer, joint tape, a plastering trowel, etc., in their bathroom closet?!

My dear, work-from-home hubby was nice enough to watch the baby for me while I rushed (well, took me 2 hours, at least!!) from place to place, gathering all my organizational tools, including my new best friend:

DYMO Label Maker, Target about $20

I’d been wanting one of those things for a while now, and knew this would be the perfect time to “splurge” for one :)

After gathering the label maker…..some cute $1.00 dollar-store baskets…..I came home, and–

suddenly I want to PAINT the closet first. I had meant to paint it over the summer when I redecorated the bathroom, but the thought of getting up in there, in the nooks and crannies, well, meh–UGH! Too tedious–sorry!

Welcome, however…….my other best friend, my new Command Max HVLP paint sprayer:

HomeRight Command Max HVLP Paint Sprayer, approx. $65

I won this baby on a HomeRight’s Facebook page! :) (Don’t be jealous)…..

If you’re using this paint sprayer, I recommend you cover everything in the room (if possible), or, at least everything within the nearby vicinity. There is a fine paint mist (very powdery) that lands on everything. You should have seen my hair–it look like premature grey :) LOL

Anyhow, all cleaned up….ready for paint…..

The paint sprayer worked ok, for the most part (I do, however, love this sprayer! It just hard to squeeze the paint sprayer in between the shelves, and the lighting wasn’t bright enough in the closet, so it was hard to see how well the coverage was; otherwise, this sprayer is great!). I did end up having to go over some parts (close to the shelves) with a paint brush:
Um, yeah, we will be getting some contact paper to cover that nasty old contact paper….

Let’s have  a look at the BEFORE once more:

Now, let’s see the AFTER:

So happy with the results!!!! Perhaps now my life will become a little more organized and a lot LESS hectic!
I do have to admit that I didn’t do the other de-cluttering: cleaning out my nightstand. It’s not too messy, so I guess we can let that one slide ;-)
